DISCLAIMER:
Probably nothing I write here is a "cry for help" sort of thing. I am perfectly aware of what I suffer from, and have been for years, and it helps me to get it out, and it especially helps me to remember how I felt on a particular day and go back and look at it.
I write in an online journal A) because I enjoy reading what my friends have to say B) because it helps me keep in touch with friends who are far away from me now (both those I have met and those I haven't) C) because there are people who read this who I have never actually met in real life and yet they know things about me and understand things that people I do know in real life never could, or I could just never take someone that close to me knowing and D) because I hope it will help people who are actually around me on a regular basis understand me a little better.
It is also habit. I have written in a LJ since 2002 (I have an old one from hs and I made this one when I started college). I whine and complain and show when I am in pain and say things in here I would never every say to someone in person because it would hurt too much to actually see their face. This journal is not "public." Only the people I choose can read it. I get absolutely no pleasure from bothering people, or from having attention focused on me, so I guess all I can say is read at your own risk.
